This Advent, our midweek series, A People Prepared, reflects on how God prepares His people for the arrival of the Savior. Through the stories in the Gospel of Luke, we see God humbling the proud, lifting up the lowly, and proclaiming the Good News of salvation to the world. Join us as we journey through these powerful moments of preparation, discovering how God’s promises shape hearts and ready His people for Christ’s coming.

Wed, 12/4 | The High Become Low | Luke 1:1-24
The Gospel of Luke begins with an announcement given to the High Priest that he is going to have a child who will be great. Because of his reluctance to embrace the message, the High Priest is humbled, rendered unable to speak. Preparing people for the coming of the Savior, the high are brought low.

Wed, 12/11 | The Low Become High | Luke 1:25-56
Preparations for the coming of the Savior continue as God lifts up the humble. Mary receives the news that she will give birth to the Savior and sings praise to God in the company or her relative, Elizabeth. Preparing people for the coming of the Savior, the low become high.

Wed, 12/18 | Proclaiming to the People | Luke 1:57-80
Finally John is born and his father (now able to speak) proclaims that his son will be the one to bring the news of the Savior to the nations. He proclaims about one who will proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ. Preparing people for the coming of the Savior, good news is proclaimed to the nations!
